Mathnavi - O wild gazelle, where are you?
O wild gazelle, where are you?
I have several familiarities with you.
Two lonely ones, two wanderers, two without anyone.
Predator and your trap, lurking from front and behind.
Come, let us know each other's state.
Let us seek each other's desire if we can.
For I see that this troubled plain
Has no pleasant and joyful pasture.
Who will be, tell me, O friends,
The friend of the friendless, the companion of the strangers.
Unless the blessed-footed Khidr appears,
With the blessing of his effort, he opens a way.
Perhaps the time of nurturing loyalty has come,
For my omen came «Do not leave me alone».
This I remember from a wise old man,
I have not forgotten it, indeed never.
That one day a traveler in a land
A wandering dervish kindly said to him:
O traveler, what do you have in your bag?
Come, set a trap, if you have bait.
He answered him, said: I have a trap,
But I must hunt the Simurgh.
He said: How will you obtain its sign?
For its nest is without a trace from us.
Like that flowing cypress, a caravan went,
Like a cypress branch, it keeps watch.
Do not give up the cup of wine and the base of the flower,
But do not be unaware of the intoxicated world.
At the edge of a spring and the side of a stream,
A tear and a conversation with oneself.
What weight will my need bring to this melody?
Since the rich sun has become a purse-maker.
In memory of the departed and the loved ones,
Become in harmony with the spring cloud.
The sword of separation struck so mercilessly,
As if there had never been any acquaintance.
When the flowing water comes to you lamenting,
Seek help from the water of your own eyes (tears).
That old companion showed no consideration,
O Muslims, O Muslims, for God's sake!
Unless the blessed-footed Khidr can,
Bring this lonely one to that lonely one.
You see the pearl and pass by the worthless bead,
Pass by a style that does not become famous.
When I bring the fish of the pen to writing,
You ask for the interpretation from «Nun wal-Qalam».
I mixed the soul with wisdom,
And from that seed, which was obtained, I sowed.
Joyfulness is evident in this composition,
For it is the essence of poetry and the core of the soul of parts.
Come and from the fragrance of this good hope,
Make the scent of the soul eternally fragrant.
For this navel (musk pod) is from the fold of the houri's garment,
Not that deer that is averse to people.
O friends, know the value of each other,
Since it is known, do not recite the explanation by heart.
The words of the advisor are just this:
That the stone-thrower of separation is in ambush.
