They do not give him a barley grain out of stinginess and miserliness,

Wisdom was saying in my ear yesterday,

Go and be patient in poverty.

Make contentment your wealth and burn (with it),

In this pain and suffering, like poverty.

Come, Hafez, listen to this advice with your soul,
