Persian Literature: Where every poet is either 1) mysteriously whispering to a nightingale, 2) writing 1,000 verses to avoid doing taxes, or 3) casually dropping wisdom that’s 80% vibes, 20% logic. 🕊️📜💸

Persian Literature: Where every poet is either 1) crying over a rose, 2) philosophizing with a wineglass, or 3) low-key roasting the entire universe. 🌹🍷🌌

Ferdowsi writing the Shahnameh for 30 years: “Yes, yes, I’ll finish the epic poem… after I write 10,000 verses about a hero arguing with a magical bird.”
Meanwhile, Persian moms in 1010 CE: “Beta, when will you get a real job? ‘Epic poet’ isn’t paying the bills!”

Hafez out here writing ghazals so cryptic, even he probably woke up like, “Wait, did I mean ‘beloved’ or was I just hungry?”
Modern translation: His entire Divan is just a medieval Persian version of “It’s not a phase, Mom, it’s my ✨aesthetic✨.”

And Rumi? Bro invented “spiritual thirst” before La Croix was a thing. “The universe is within you!” — aka, “Why yes, I am avoiding my taxes by staring at a candle.”

Omar Khayyam: “Life’s short, let’s drink wine and question existence.”
Also Omar Khayyam: “But first, let me rhyme ‘destiny’ with ‘wine’ 400 times.” 🍷📚

Imagine Saadi Shirazi: in the middle of writing Bustan, he suddenly says to himself, "Ugh, this fifth chapter of Bustan is taking too long, let me go write a Golestan instead!" 😂 It's like he had ancient ADHD: unfinished project? A new one sounds more exciting! 📚➡️🌸

It's like when you go to the kitchen to drink water, but come back with 3 half-finished books, a new plant, and a bunch of ideas for "redecorating"! 🤷♂️

Clearly, Saadi also had "hyperfocus" in his creativity, but only on what he wanted! 😅
Now imagine if Ritalin existed back then: either Bustan would have 20 chapters... or Golestan would never have been written! 💊📖

(P.S.: This theory is definitely brought to you by someone who’s still procrastinating on finishing their own to-read list and is busy writing this post instead! 📝🚶♂️)
