Shahrnush Parsipur: She is a novelist and feminist who has written several books that challenge the social and political norms of Iran, such as Women Without Men, Touba and the Meaning of Night, and Kissing the Sword. She has faced censorship, imprisonment, and exile for her works.
Mahmoud Dowlatabadi: He is a prolific writer who has written over 20 novels and 100 short stories, mostly about the lives and struggles of the rural and urban poor in Iran. His most famous work is The Colonel, a dark and powerful novel about the aftermath of the 1979 Iranian revolution.
