Come, for the Turk of the sky has plundered the fast, Ghazal 131 by Hafez
By @hamed | poet: Hafez Shirazi | 4 4

Description:
English Translation:
Come, for the Turk of the sky has plundered the fast,
The crescent moon has beckoned to the wine cup.
The reward for fasting and the accepted pilgrimage
Belongs to the one who has visited the dust of the love's tavern.
Our true station is the corner of the tavern,
May God bless the one who built this edifice.
What is the price of wine as red as ruby?
The essence of reason. Come, for the one who made this trade has profited.
Prayer is performed in the arch of those eyebrow-mosques
By one who has purified himself with the blood of his liver.
Alas, the narcissus, the jamāl of the city's sheikh today,
Looked at the lovers with contempt.
Look at your beloved with grateful eyes,
For the one who has seen much looks with insight.
Hear the tale of love from Hafez, not from a preacher,
Even though he has used many artful expressions.
