I heard of a heedless man who destroyed the homes of the subjects to fill the king’s treasury, unaware of the wise saying: “Whoever offends God, the Almighty, to win the hearts of people, God will set those very people against him to ruin his life.”
The burning fire does not do to wild rue, What the smoke of a sorrowful heart does.
It is said that the lion is the king of all animals, and the donkey is the most despised. Yet, a burden-bearing donkey is better than a man-eating lion.
The poor donkey, though lacking in intelligence, Is valued because it carries burdens. Oxen and donkeys that carry loads, Are better than people who cause harm.
Returning to the story of the heedless minister, the king discovered his immoral behavior through various signs. He tortured and punished him in many ways until he killed him.
The king’s satisfaction is not achieved, Until you seek the hearts of his servants. Do you want God to bless you? Do good to God’s creatures.
It is said that one of the oppressed passed by him in his ruined state, reflected on his condition, and said:
Not everyone who has the strength of a position, Can unjustly consume the wealth of the people. You can swallow a large bone, But it will tear your stomach when it gets stuck.
The wicked oppressor does not remain, But the curse upon him endures.
