How can one nurtured in the shade have the strength

To go into battle with warriors?

A feeble arm, in its ignorance, clashes

With a man of iron claws.

ضعیفی که با قوی دلاوری کند، یار دشمن است در هلاک خویش.

سایه پرورده را چه طاقت آن

که رود با مبارزان به قتال

سست بازو به جهل می‌فکند

پنجه با مرد آهنین چنگال
