English Translation for Hekayat

The wise person strives when there is conflict, but when they see peace, they settle down, for there is safety on the shore and sweetness in the middle.

The gambler wants three sixes, but gets three ones instead.

A thousand times a pasture is better than the battlefield,

But the horse does not have the reins in its hands.

متن حکایت

عاقل چون خلاف اندر میان آمد بجهد و چو صلح بیند لنگر بنهد که آنجا سلامت بر کران است و اینجا حلاوت در میان.

مقامر را سه شش می‌باید، ولیکن سه یک می‌آید.

هزار باره چراگاه خوشتر از میدان

ولیکن اسب ندارد به دست خویش عنان
