English Translation for Hekayat

Wealth is meant to bring comfort to life, not life to be spent accumulating wealth.

A wise man was asked, "Who is fortunate, and what defines misfortune?"
He replied, "The fortunate is one who enjoys and sows (for the future), and the unfortunate is one who dies and leaves (everything) behind."

Do not pray over the one who achieved nothing,
Who spent his life hoarding wealth but never enjoyed it.

This short tale reflects Saadi's timeless wisdom about the purpose of life and the folly of prioritizing material gain over meaningful living.
