English Translation for Ghazal

It’s a city full of delicate ones, and from every side, a beloved
Friends call out the cry of love, if you will do anything

The eye of the sky has never seen such a marvelous youth
In no one’s hand will be found a lovelier beauty

Never has an eye seen a body composed of such a soul
May no dust from these earthly ones fall on their skirt

Why do you chase away one like me, who is broken?
A little expectation is a kiss or a place beside you

Drink the pure wine, seize the moment while it’s pleasant
What hope is there for another spring?

In the garden of companions, like tulips and roses
Each has taken a cup in memory of the beloved’s face

How can I unravel this knot, and how can I reveal this secret?
It’s a painful and very painful task, difficult and very difficult

Every hair of Hafez is in the hand of a playful lock
It’s difficult to sit in such a land
